The Night Train
Shot on a sleeping train from Bangkok to Chiang-Mai in November 2005, this series was inspired by my love of filmic imagery. Initially I was captivated by the romantic notion of a sleeping train passing unnoticed through a nocturnal landscape. The night-time images then turn to daylight as in the classic horror films that inspire much of my work the tension of the night time is replaced by a sense of refreshment and awakening as the morning arrives in a new place.
This series was awarded the Shots/Corbis student photographer of the year award in 2006.
