This body of work was inspired by my road trip across America and the nostalgia surrounding Americana that I discovered when talking about my trip and showing people the photographs from ‘Road Trip’. I am interested how a false sense of nostalgia is created by cinema and imagery to create a marketable place, that can be sold to people in the UK who have no connection to America and have often never even visited. This particularly fascinated me in 2006, a time when England’s relationship with America was under increasing scrutiny in the press due to controversy surrounding British foreign policy.

This body of work was awarded a Fuji Film award in 2007.
