Odd Cars

The Odd Cars series is very early work from 2004/05 which involved much experimentation with lighting and was part of a learning curve in my nocturnal photography, which eventually resulted in ‘Alternative Suns’ using only lighting that was already present in the landscape. The images were inspired by the generic conventions and lighting of classic horror and sci-fi films, such as ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ and ‘Nosferatu’. My intention was to create images that evoke a sense of a paused narrative.
